Bethany Caruso, MPH PhD
I am a social and behavioral scientist employing mixed methods approaches to understand how compromised water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) conditions impact physical and mental health, behavior, education, and empowerment in low-income settings, with a specific focus on women throughout their life course. I am currently an Assistant Professor of Global Health at the Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University.
My work includes application of qualitative methods, measurement development , hierarchical modeling approaches, theory-based intervention design, and impact and process evaluation. I have carried out fieldwork in Kenya, India, Bangladesh, and Bolivia, and have supported research in Mali, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and the Philippines, among other locations.
